Planning for Success! |
| |
 |
Our web developers and programmers come from an engineering background where strict design methodologies are used to get quality designs done in as short a design cycle as possible. The methodologies and discipline used to create highly complex hardware and software designs are the same principles used to create your website. Simply put: the more planning done up front, the fewer problems in the final product. A brief overview of our design flow is given below: |

The Design Methodology |
| |
Phase 1: Planning |
| |
Story Board |
The website is mapped out in terms of pages with rough content ideas and links. This stage provides the customer with a high level view of the entire website before coding begins. Later, this can be used as the basis for a site map page. |
| |
Navigation Analysis |
Navigation analysis is the exercise of going through the proposed site idea to ensure that a visitor can navigate through the site quickly and easily. Among other items, this includes navigation bar designs, global links, context specific links. |
| |
Graphics/Theme Planning |
At this stage, one or more themes or website "looks" are proposed. This involves color, graphics and button selection. |
| |
Database Planning |
The database structure is determined at this stage. This includes the number and types of tables as well as the data that will be stored within. |
| |
Design Specification |
The planning stage culminates in the release of the website Design Specification. Information from the previous planning stages is captured and presented to the customer prior to coding start. |

Phase 2: Coding |
| |
Database Development |
The database is the foundation of any website that captures data as part of an application. As such, the database and tables are implemented first. |
| |
Web Page & Script Development |
Web pages and scripts are developed based on the website Design Specification. With pages planned out in advance, the coding is usually implemented quickly and with minimal errors. |
| |
Flash Development |
Flash instances are created as needed once the look and feel of the site are better understood. Flash adds an exciting multimedia element to the website. |
| |
|
|
| |
Phase 3: Verification |
| |
Content |
Content is proof-read for spelling and grammar errors as well as any other language related issues. Content details are evaluated in conjunction with the customer. |
| |
Link/Navigation Integrity |
A full site-wide link analysis is performed to ensure there are no broken links and that the site can be navigated quickly and easily by a site visitor. |
| |
Applications Testing |
In this phase, all site applications are verified to work properly in all situations. Commonly referred to as "corner-case" testing, our verification experts look for ways to "break" the site before it is put into production. When problems are found, they are fixed quickly and the site is re-tested. |
