We are constantly reminded  to get on social media, write new and unique content, start a blog, optimize keywords, build inbound links, make our website mobile friendly and on and on. In the end, we want as many prospective customers to find out about us and buy our product or service. For most businesses, that means ranking well on Google. But who has time for all this? 1) Look at your site on a mobile device

Google indexes webpages “mobile first”. This means when they are considering which pages to return for a given search, they consider your mobile page performance and display first. Does it load quickly? Is it easy to read and navigate? If you want know what Google thinks, you can test your pages for free at PageSpeed Insights. Just enter one of your page URLs and click “Analyze”. You get a score between 0 and 100 for mobile and desktop, the higher the better. If you’ve already done the mobile thing, great – skip to the next item. On the other, if your mobile score is under 50, you’ll want to get that fixed up. 2) Sign up for Google My Business

An optimized business listing could get listed on the map listings (often called the local 3 pack) that are returned for many search queries. The local pack is listed high in search rankings to it is a valuable listing to have.

3) Check out your competitors

Google your product or service and see what they’re doing. Are their sites more up to date? Are they mobile friendly? Are they on Google My Business? By checking out your competition, you can either spot opportunities for you to get a leg up on them or see areas you need to address because you’re falling behind.
